It'd be interesting to see the routing.Īnd. Tell you what: For fun, post traceroutes to the server(s) you're having download issues from that is fixed via VPN, using both connection methods. Doesn't make me popular with conspiracy theorists. I tend to believe the most straightforward explanation that fits the evidence. If you have found a study with real evidence, I'd be interested in seeing it, because I've not found it yet. There are loads of "discussions" where someone says "my performance is poor, my ISP must be throttling my connection" followed by a dozen "me, too"s. I see plenty of accusations with no actual evidence. I Call It Like I See It, Simply a U-verse user, nothing more The ATT Uverse Care team will suspect bad service stats on your connection, have not even posted what speed you pay for and your stats or what RG you have, it all makes a difference, if you really want help. I did a search and got a bunch of old complaints (2008-2013) and some current ones on apple downloads whe iOs upgrade was going on.ĪTT does not deliberately throttle anything. There's a cluster of discussions and artciles posted from various sources and ATT is in the reports. Go ahead and throw in a Google search when you get the chance. That's okay, 'JefferMC the ACE -Master', I'll take up my problems with a support team who isn't going to be condensending and acknowledges that ISPs have been caught throttling speeds for a while now. PM ATT Uverse Care (all service problems) Please NO SD stretch-o-vision or 480 SD HD Channels What speed do you pay for and on VDSL 2 or ADSL 2+? What RG?Įdit: ATT does NOT throttle any downloads at any time. Actually when I do, I choose ATT here in metro Detroit and get 21ms ping, Comcrap is 33ms. All my downloads come down at 15Mbs to the very high 14Mbs rate. On my 12/1.50Mbs VDSL 2 internet I get 15.35/2.00Mbs, so don't think it's slowing me down at all. Thanks in advance for any ideas to help get this resolved.ģ0ms of latency is nothing. Considering that with U-verse you at minimum get 30ms latency anywhere, this is already annoying. When I connect my VPN up, even to another country, I get the full speed I was told I would be.ĪTT, what is going on over there? I can't justify paying you for a service if this is how it is going to be. Simply put, when I have been trying to download various items across the internet (Ubuntu install package is the latest example) my speeds are way under what I am told I should be getting.
